  • What is the Ketogenic Diet?

    A Ketogenic diet is a very low-carb diet, in which your body switches its fuel supply from Glucose to run mostly on fat, burning fat 24-7. By lowering the intake of carbs, the body is forced into a state known as ketosis. Ketosis is a natural process the body begins to help us survive when food intake is low. During this state, we produce ketones, which are produced from the breakdown of fats in the liver. The keto diet is made up of mostly fats (75 percent of your daily calories), some protein (20 percent) and a small number of carbs (5 percent). So basically you're burning your own fat for fuel!
